Mason 11 Months Old

Are you kidding me mommy?? I can't be 11 months already!!
On March 12, 2011, Mason turned 11 months old. I don't even want to think about him turning one. This year has gone by too fast!!! His biggest accomplishment this month was that he started taking a few steps. He took his first few steps on March 5th. He gets so excited when he walks, maybe too excited because it makes him fall. Landry likes to hold his hands out to let Mason try to walk to him. I love watching them interact.

Mason is like his brother in that he loves to be outside. One way that they are different is that Mason loves the grass and Landry did not like the grass. Mason will crawl around and play with the grass and Landry would not even touch it. If Landry fell in the grass he would find a way to get up without using his hands. It was pretty funny to watch.

Mason still loves to eat. I have not found many foods that he doesn't like, but there are times when he refuses a food that I know he likes and then later he will eat that same food again. I guess it is called being picky:) He likes to make lots of noise. He says "ba-ba", "da-da", and other repeated syllables but no real words yet. That's ok, because I am not ready for him to grow up yet.

He just wanted to crawl in the grass.

No, Mommy. I will not smile for you.
He made lots of funny faces. His shopping cart did not go fast enough in the grass.
It went much faster on the concrete.

Showing off his figure. I think he has a high metabolism :)

Mason 10 months

February 12, 2011....Mason turned 10 months old. I am soooo not ready for my little man to grow up!!

There is not alot new going on at ten months. He is cruising around like crazy. Landry was already walking at this age, but Mason is not quite ready for that and neither am I :) He will cruise around anything that he can pull himself up to. He loves his walking toys. Landry has given his shopping cart to Mason to push around and Mason loves it. Landry always brings it to him and says "Mason's shopping cart". What a sweet brother...most of the time.

Mason has tried lots of new foods and textures. Cauliflower took him a while to get used to. I think it was the texture of it, but now he likes it. He does not have alot of chubs on him, but trust me, he loves to eat and eats lots and lots of food. He loves bananas and it is great because they are very portable so we usually have one in the diaper bag. When he sees a banana he gets so excited that he starts rocking and waving his hands. It is hilarious! I think he could eat a whole banana in under a minute if I let him.

Mason does not have any new teeth, but with the increase of drool and biting on his hands and fingers, he appears to be teething. He is sleeping about the same amount of time he appears to be teething . Two naps per day, anywhere from 1-3 hours at a time, and he sleeps at night from around 7 pm to 7 am. He tends to start twirling his hair when he is tired or he will twirl the hair of whoever is holding him. Mason is a happy and smiley baby and we LOVE him so much!

Mason loves to chew on books. What baby doesn't??
His new sleeping position.
He got to experience some snow during his 10th month.

Mason loves being outside.
Avocado is one of Mason's favorite foods. I think bananas top the list, but avocado is a close second.

He enjoyed watermelon too!!

"Are you kidding me?"

I try to use my blog to write down some of my memories and I have been slacking on posting about Landry.

"Are you kidding me?".....This is my favorite phrase that Landry says lately. It happened during a game he likes to play that he calls "2 points" and we call basketball. We use two sand pails and a soft basketball for our game. One day, he threw the basketball and missed the bucket and said "Ah man..Are you kidding me?". Obviously, he has heard that phrase a few times while watching basketball on t.v. with Dad. It sounds pretty funny coming out of a two year olds mouth. He makes us laugh alot every day with the things he says!

-Landry is a typical two year old that throws tantrums, especially when he is tired or hungry.
-He has lots and lots of energy.
-He likes routines. For example, every day before bed he has to get a drink of water and it has to be COLD(thanks to daddy)!
-He likes to talk even if we can't understand everything he says.
-He asks lots of question. (What is that? Where is it? What are you doing? etc,) They are not always clearly spoken, but we know what he is saying.
-He is a good sleeper as long as he has a few puppies to sleep with.

Landry loves to push his lawn mower around the block.

And walk on the ledge in our neighbors yard.

And collect rocks and acorns on his lawn mower.

Landry learning how to ride his scooter.

Silly boy!

He sleeps with lots and lots of puppies...usually in his bed, but he chose the floor this day.

He loves the park and being outside!

He also loves to play baseball.

And my favorite thing right now is to watch these two boys together. Landry likes to make Mason laugh and to give him hugs and kisses.
Monkey see, Monkey do!
They have lots of fun together.

Mason 9 Months

January 12, 2011, Mason turned 9 months old. During his 9th month, he has gotten even more mobile and alot more vocal. One more tooth came in this month, so he now has 3 on bottom and 4 on the top. He likes to bite everything, especially our wooden end tables. He also started to grind his teeth, which makes us cringe a little. All of these things are due to his teething. Luckily it is not affecting his sleep. Yay! He still likes to sleep which is good for Mom and Dad :)

This month, Mason self fed himself some cereal puffs for the first time. Landry really enjoyed this because he wanted to "help" by putting the cereal in Mason's mouth. In the beginning, Landry would put the cereal close to Mason's mouth and then quickly put it in his own mouth. It was really funny! Then he finally started putting it in Mason's mouth. Mason also tried carrots, squash, apple sauce, green beans, canteloupe, and pears this month. He liked everything the first time, but green beans were not liked after a few times of eating them.

His mobility advanced this month as he started crawling on his knees. He still prefers the army crawl but he can do both. He also began pulling himself up and cruising a little.

9 month checkup:
Weight - 18lbs, 9 oz ( He actually gained weight thanks to no more spitting up!!)
Height - 29.75 inches

Waiting for his doctor.
Mason really loves to play in Landry's room. I love it when Landry tells Mason (in his own toddler speak) to come to his room. The interactions between the two of them are the favorite parts of my days.

The one thing about playing in Landry's room is that you are bound to have to dodge a ball being thrown, like the soccer ball that was thrown in this picture. Here, Mason is pulling himself up. Sometimes he makes it harder on himself but it works for him.

Look at me!!
Monkey see, Monkey do!

One of his first times to self feed. There is some food in his fist somewhere and he is just trying to find it.
Mason had his baptism on January 9th. He looked so handsome!

Bath time fun!
One of there favorite things to do. It puts a smile on everyone's face.

Mason 8 Months Old

Dec 12, 2010. Mason turned 8 months old. Time is moving too fast...especially with two little ones to keep me busy.

Mason is all over the house with his army crawl and roll. I can never take my eyes off him because he moves so quickly. He has about 6 teeth (3 on top and 3 on bottom). I say "about" because there are lots of teeth starting to poke through so it is hard to tell. He has tried lots of new foods and we have not found anything that he does not like. This month we started bananas, sweet potatoes, peas, and carrots. We go through lots of bananas in this house. At first, I would give Mason half a mashed banana and Landry would get the other half. Now, half is not enough for Mason, so I have to give them both a whole banana. I can only imagine how much food we will go through when they are teenagers!

Mason is a very happy baby and he is easy to make laugh. He is starting to entertain himself with different toys. He loves to stand holding on to his sit to stand toy and he slowly moves himself around it. He has also found out how tasty his crib is because he has started to bite the railing. I am guessing that Landry told him to try it out because Landry also liked to bite his crib and left many teeth marks. I decided to put a rubber covering on the front rail but he has already figured out to go to the side rails. I guess I will have to cover those too!!
