Mother's Day 2011

Mother's Day this year was lots of fun. I am so lucky to be a mom to two wonderful boys and to have a wonderful mom that has taught me how to be a great mom!

Grandpa Montgomery invited us to go to the Texas Rangers game. Troy gave me the option to decide since it was on Mother's Day. They were playing the Yankees, we would be in a suite, free food and drinks, and it would be my boys first Rangers game. Of course, I said "Yes!"

They loved their view! They watched some of the game and really loved running around in the suite. They also ate lots of good food. Funny story about Landry...Jon Daniels, the Rangers GM, was in the suite connected to ours and Landry kept going under the railing and standing next to him. I had to literally stand there to block him so he would stop going over there. Unfortunately the Rangers lost that day, but we all know what an AMAZING season they had this year!!

Landry passed out on the way home. He had lots of fun, but threw lots of fits once he got tired. We look forward to many more Rangers games with these boys.

April 2011

Here are my last random pictures and thoughts from April 2011. Six more months and I will be caught up!
Landry still loves to sleep with his puppies and other things, usually sports related (basketball, baseball and glove, etc.).

I love the way babies look when they sleep. Mason has always loved to sleep. Lately, I can ask him if he wants to go night-night and he will walk to his crib. He prefers to just be laid down and not rocked. I love that he goes to bed so easily, but sometimes I just want to rock my baby to sleep.

I love this look that Mason is giving Joseph. Mason loves Joseph so much! It is so sweet how happy Mason gets with Joseph around.

First and Hopefully Last Stitches

I hate writing this story, but I know one day Landry will want to know how he got his first stitches. On April 15, 2011, Landry was playing peek-a-boo with a big blanket and having lots of fun putting the blanket over his head. Then he started walking with the blanket over his head, tripped on the blanket, and hit his forehead on the edge the end table. Thankfully, Daddy was already home and was the first to get to Landry. He pulled the blanket off his head and told me in a calm voice, "Don't freak out, just get the diaper bag ready to go to the hospital." He had split his forehead open and we could tell he would need stitches. We put a towel on it and applied pressure to stop the bleeding. Landry had already stopped crying before we were in the car. He was taking it really well and I was too, thanks to Daddy!

On the way to Cooks ER... all smiles. This is gross, but when he would talk, the cut would open and close.

At the ER... they were getting him ready for stitches.

He got to watch lots of Caillou on Daddy's phone. His favorite was Caillou Fireman and he kept yelling "Caillou Fireman!" This was not phasing him.

Still not worried. Mason was also with us and he was more antsy than Landry.

Then they put him on a papoose board. It looks like torture, but it was SO necessary for him to sit still for the stitches. He actually had no problem with this.

Daddy gave him a kiss before the stitches began. They had to put a sheet of thin paper over his face with an opening by his mouth and where the stiches would be...and this he was not ok with. The screaming began :( They gave him a numbing shot and were ready to begin. An off duty fireman that was there checking people in came back to help keep Landry still. He could barely keep him still. Landry screamed the whole time and his face was bright red. I felt horrible seeing him go through it, but I knew he needed the stitches. After the stitches, they gave him a popsicle and the fireman found him some firetruck stickers that he loved.

Here are his three stitches. Somehow he lost one of his stitches after the first night.

April 17, only 2 day after his accident. Already looking alot better.

Only 2 days after his stitches he ran right behind his cousin that was swinging a plastic golf club and he got another bump. This was on his left eye. He looked like he got in a fight :)

April 21... Much better!!

It has really healed great. Since his accident, we moved the coffee table out of our living room. It was the end table that he hit, but we thought the coffee table would be the most likely cause of another accident. Also, Landry now uses the term "hospital trip" alot. If Mason is doing something dangerous, like standing on a chair, Landry will say, "That's a hospital trip." If we tell him to stop doing something, like jumping on the couch, he says "Is that a hospital trip??" We are glad he is starting to realize what types of things are dangerous. One last thing that has changed since his accident...we are very weary of blankets, especially if they want to put them over their head.

Easter 2011 - Mason's First Easter

Last year, Easter was on April 4th which was my due date for Mason. I had the cutest My First Easter outfit bought. Apparently, he did not want to wear it, because he decided to wait it out and not come until April 12th. This year, Easter was on April 24, so Mason celebrated his first Easter after he turned 1. Unfortunately, the outfit I picked out did not fit anymore. Hehe.

Landry was a little frightened of the Easter bunny at the mall. Mason just sat there. No big deal for him.

I found the Walgreens Easter bunny to be more frightening, but Landry liked him alot more. He played peek a boo, danced, and slapped hands with him.

We had an egg hunt at my parents and Mason tried to put the plastic eggs in his mouth and one time he actually fit the whole thing in. Freaked me out!

Landry wanted the candy more than he wanted to hunt eggs. He learned his leasson the hard way because the candy gave him a tummyache.
