4th of July

July 4, 2011

Fourth of July is always fun because my parents live right across the street from the Bedrord Boys Ranch, where they always have a great fireworks show and lots of events going on.  It seems to get better every year. It is usually pretty hot and this year it was extremely hot.  This year was extra special, because before the fireworks, my future brother-in-law, Zach, proposed to my sister, Melanie.  It was very exciting and we are so happy for them.

My boys were ready to go to Papa and Grandmas.

My festive strawberries. I found this online and had to try it.

Someone was ready to try them.

Troy decided to mow before we left and Landry had to help.

My silly boy.

Mason and daddy waiting for the fireworks.

My boys and I.  A little worn out but still excited for the fireworks.

Papa entertaining Mason.

In awe of the fireworks.

I had to steal a few pictures from my sister because she always gets better pictures than me. I love the one of Joseph and Mason.

Mason's Haircut

June 28, 2011

Mason's hair grows way too fast. I don't like cutting his hair, because I never like the way it turns out.  His hair is very fine, but thick, so it shows every cut.   It always takes me at least a day to like it. (Maybe that is why recently I have been having someone else do it.)  But, you can see in these before pictures that he was WAY overdue for a haircut.

    Before his June haircut.

Could he even see with all that hair in his eyes.

After his June haircut.

I am not sure why I did a weird side part for this picture, but it looked much better.

Fun with Water

June 2011

My boys went to Bedford Splash for the first time in June. Mason loved walking through the water and letting it spray on him

Landry stayed on the slides most of the time, but also came and played with his brother.

They also enjoyed their spray pool.

Brother Fun

June 2011

My boys love to play together. Sometimes they are too rough for my liking, but I know they are having fun.  Even though Mason is smaller (for now), he can take Landry down.  In June, he went through a phase where he would just walk up to Landry and pull him down and laugh.  Sometimes Landry would laugh and other times he would come tell me that Mason hurt him.  Landry would also encourage it by saying, "Mason come tackle me!" We usually hear lots of laughing when they are playing.  It is so fun to watch them learning to play together and having fun.

Mason about to "tackle" Landry.

Some more wrestling.

Landry also likes to teach Mason how to do things, like dunking a basketball.  Landry gets more excited than Mason when Mason does something new.

Another thing Mason loved to do in June was to stand on his head like this and look between his legs.  Too funny!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

June 2011

June was a fun month because it was hot, but not too hot to play outside and take lots of walks.

Landry and Mason had their friends Colson and Parker over to play.  These boys have fun playing together.

Landry and Colson swinging.

Landry being silly with his sunglasses.

Making brother laugh.

Cheese!

Landry has moved up to the big boy swing, but this day decided he needed to swing like Mason.

Father's Day 2011

June 19, 2011
For Father's Day, we started out by going to church where Landry was supposed to sing with his VBS friends in front of church.  He was one of the youngest and wanted to sit with us instead.

Daddy with his two boys.

After naptime, we got ready for an early dinner. We were taking Daddy out to eat.

On their best behavior for daddy :)

One of our gifts before it was framed.  I traced all of our hands and glued them on top of eachother.

The boys loved making their footprints for Daddy.

Brought tears to Daddy's eyes. This poem is so true.

PandaMania

June 10, 2011

This was Landry's first year to attend Vacation Bible School at our church. The theme was PandaMania.  He had lots of fun, but each day he did not want us to leave when we were dropping him off. Every day we would come pick him up and he would not want to leave, so we knew he was having fun.  My favorite part was the music.  He learned lots of songs and I love hearing him sing.

Landry with his class and the Panda.

Strike a pose! He was such a cute panda.

He was shy, but I caught him dancing on stage a few times.  The last night they did a slideshow for the parents. I stayed at the back and watched Landry dancing all around. It is fun to watch when they don't know you are watching.
