Easter 2011 - Mason's First Easter

April 24, 2011

Last year, Easter was on April 4th which was my due date for Mason. I had the cutest My First Easter outfit bought. Apparently, he did not want to wear it, because he decided to wait it out and not come until April 12th. This year, Easter was on April 24, so Mason celebrated his first Easter after he turned 1. Unfortunately, the outfit I picked out did not fit anymore. Hehe.

Landry was a little frightened of the Easter bunny at the mall. Mason just sat there. No big deal for him.

I found the Walgreens Easter bunny to be more frightening, but Landry liked him alot more. He played peek a boo, danced, and slapped hands with him.
Mason ready for church.
Brothers!
We had an egg hunt at my parents and Mason tried to put the plastic eggs in his mouth and one time he actually fit the whole thing in. Freaked me out!
Landry wanted the candy more than he wanted to hunt eggs. He learned his leasson the hard way because the candy gave him a tummyache.
All the cousins.

Mason the Easter bunny.
Mason loves to rub people's hair or his own when he is tired. He decided to rub Papa's eyebrow.
Landry the basketball star. He loves for Daddy to hold him up so he can shoot on the big basketball goal.

Mason's 1st Birthday Party

April 10, 2011.
Another catch-up post. (Thanks to the Cowboys I have time for another post. They made the game a close one, so Troy stayed til the last second and will not be home for a long while. At least they won!)

Mason's first birthday party turned out even better than expected. We chose a baseball theme because the Texas Rangers' season was just starting and we love sports. This post has a ton of pictures because it was so hard pick my favorites. All of the pictures below were taken by my sister, Mellissa. She did such a great job documenting this special day!

Mason - 1 Year Old

April 12, 2011 ( It has been way too long since I have blogged)

Mason turned 1 year old. Time flew by way too fast and we could not believe our little man was 1.

1 Year Check up:
Weight : 19lbs 3 oz
Height : 31.5 inches

I don't remember the exact percentages, but I know he was in almost the highest for height and the lowest for weight. The doctor was a little concerned because he had not gained alot of weight since his last appointment, but we were not concerned.

At one year old, Mason was....
--talking a little. His favorite word was Daddy (but he still had not said Mommy and to this day he barely says it). He also liked to say bubble, go, hi, and some other words.
--taking lots of steps but not fully walking. He was much slower than his brother at starting to walk.
--sleeping really well at night and for naps. He has almost always loved to sleep which has been great!!
--eating everything!! I stopped nursing, which he was pretty much done with anyways because he wanted more and more solid food. He would eat and eat until you stopped putting food in front of him. This is one reason that we were not concerned about the low weight. He must have a high metabolism!!
--copying his brother. He copied good or bad things big brother did.

Below are some pictures from the day he turned 1!!

We got our new swing set around Mason's birthday, so we bought Mason a toddler swing that he could use. Landry loves to push him in it.

The birthday boy.

The shirt he is wearing is the same shirt Landry wore to his first birthday party.

Playing on the swingset.

Taking some steps!! Sometimes I wish we could go back to this instead of the running he does now.

Lots of falling during these times of learning to walk.

What a big boy!
Birthday pancakes and strawberries. He loved it all and even had a cupcake too.

Big brother singing "Happy Birthday". It actually sounded like "Hacky Birthday" but it was so cute. We had to light the candle over and over so he could sing.

He even screamed "Happy Birthday". Mason had a great birthday and now I am ready for these boys to stop growing.

Blogging Again

I have decided to start blogging again because it is the best way for me to keep my memories all in one place. I have been thinking about it for a long time and I am hoping I can keep up this time. I am going to back track to when Mason turned one and try to catch up soon to the current. I might be crazy to think that I can do this, but I am going to try.
