Landry's First Birthday Party

We had Landry's first birthday party about a month ago. It was a great party. Landry had so much fun with all his friends and family.

Our family before the party.

Landry had no idea what we were about to let him do.

My mom made him a special cake. I was a little nervous about the blue icing but it came off very easily. It looks like Ashton wanted to dig into the cake.

The first bite.

This is the other cake my mom made for everyone to eat. It was a hit.

He was a little timid at first but after a little prodding he began to dig in.

Of course he needed some ice cream to go with his cake.

Our little smurf.

Landry did a pretty good job on the cake.

My dad did a good job of making him smile.

Blue icing everywhere.

After the cake he went straight to the bathtub.

Then he got to open his presents. He got lots of new clothes and new toys. He was most interested in the tissue paper and bags.

Ethan was a big help with the presents.

Colson having fun with the tissue paper.

Everyone loved the tissue paper.

Troy's dad and Donna with our family.

Landry took a quick nap as people started to leave the party. He was exhausted.

Birthday Pictures

Better late than never. Landry's birthday has come and gone. He is getting so big and we are really starting to see his personality come through. His favorite thing to say right now is "Thank you" and he says it alot. His favorite game is to bring daddy a toy and then take it back and then he says "Thank you" and then he runs to mommy to do the same thing. He can do it over and over without getting tired. He is so much fun.

On Landry's birthday, Troy and I both were off of work so we could spend the day with him. We made breakfast in the morning. He had pancakes and eggs for the first time. We also went to the park so he could run around.

He was a little scared of the candle or maybe it was the singing of Happy Birthday that was scaring him. Right after I took this picture, he reached out and put the candle out with his hand. Oops!! He did not hurt himself at all but I was scared that he did.

Happy to be one!!
He kept running back and forth over this bridge. He loved it.

He found alot of interesting things to pick up.

The playground was fun until the big kids ran him off.

The swing was his favorite.

Playing with his new microphone that plays songs. He loves to dance anytime he hears music so this microphone is perfect for him.

Got Milk??

This was Landry's first time to try cow's milk. I think he was expecting water because that is what he is used to getting in the sippy cup. Pretty funny reaction.

Growing Up

Landry is growing up too fast. He is definitely keeping us on our toes. He is a great walker now and has pretty much stopped crawling completely. I think he figured out that he is much faster on his feet. Once he got the walking thing down he decided that he wanted to be a climber and he has no fear. His newest adventure is to climb on top of our coffee table. Somehow he figured out how to prop his knee up on the table and then pull himself on top of it. Scary! He smiles alot and it is not hard to make him laugh. We can't believe he is almost one. It will be here before we know it. We are very blessed to have a happy and healthy almost one year old.

The Family..He likes to smile but not for the camera.
He loves this dog and his thumb. This is his way of saying he is tired and ready for a nap.
This boy had a lot of hair before we decided to cut it off. We decide to use the clippers with a guard and give him a little boy haircut. I was very sad right after, but it grew on me.

The new haircut. It has already grown out alot since this picture.
His new favorite game. He flips this walking toy upside down and tries to fit toys that are too big under the lid. Once he finally gets something to balance on top of the toy he claps for himself.

He also plays car mechanic.

Playing outside in the grass in his Cowboys jersey. Go Cowboys!

10 Months Old Already!!

Landry has been learning a lot of new tricks lately. About 2 weeks ago he decided to try walking. He would take a couple of steps here and there. Now, he takes anywhere from 2 to 20 steps. It all depends on how much balance he has at the time.

Here he is doing his first successful U-Turn. Daddy was there to catch him.

You can see here that sometimes he walks too fast and then trips over his own feet :)

He also learned it to clap his hands and to throw. He has not mastered the skill of throwing, but he thinks he has and that is all that matters. Daddy taught him to clap his hands after he throws, so even if he throws it backwards, he still claps his hands.

Cowboys Stadium Trip

Last Saturday, Landry got to see the new Cowboys Stadium. They opened up the stadium to season ticket holders so we went went Troy's mom and her husband. Troy's family has had season tickets since the Cotton Bowl so it is a family tradition. Troy has been to almost every home Cowboy's game since I have known him. We had alot of fun walking around the stadium.

These are their two seats. Troy wants the aisle seat.
Landry and Daddy.
One of these days he will sit there and watch a game.

This is their view.
The biggest screen I have ever seen and it was so clear.

Our Family. Landry did not want to smile.

This is Landry's stone that is outside of the stadium. He got it for Christmas.
Only Jerry would try to sell a $13 hamburger and I am sure he will sell it!!
The big monster.

Landry was practicing his quarterback moves when we got home. I guess he was inspired :)

Walking Toy

Landry finally decided to use this toy for what it was made for. It didn't take him long to figure it out and now it is his favorite toy.
